Message If the valve is stuck open, it absolutely would result in an exhaust leak if it was still connected to the exhaust - the fumes would travel into the valve, which is stuck open, and out through the pipes that weren't connected to anything.

It's best to eliminate all plumbing and leave the valve in place for an inspection, if necessary.

I love elitists who aren't really elite in any way... they amuse me greatly.
